Material examined: Odesa reg., Odesa, 25, 28.V.1908, 2♂ L. Sheljuzhko leg. ( ZMKU) .

Distribution in Ukraine: Kirovohrad reg.: Schugurow 1907: 21 ( Cledeobia bombycalis var. provincialis ). Kherson reg.: Obraztsov 1937: 232 ( Cledeobia bombycalis provincialis ); Schneider et al. 1985: 229 ( bembycalis [ lap. cal.]). Zaporizhzhia reg.: Schneider et al. 1985: 229 ( bembycalis [ lap. cal.]). Crimea: Schneider et al. 1985: 229 ( bembycalis [ lap. cal.]). First record from Odesa region.

Remarks. In Ukrainian collections, S. bombycalis is represented only in the ZMKU by old specimens, from Odesa ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1–5 ) and from the Askania-Nova Reserve, modern finds from Ukraine are unknown to us. The species identity of the specimens from both of these localities was also verified by genitalia dissection ( Figs 2a–b View FIGURES 1–5 ).
