Remarks
The taxonomy of Eumenes coarctatus is quite complex and still not completely resolved, as in the past it has been repeatedly divided into several species and subspecies ( Gusenleitner 1999), which more recently were grouped under just two subspecies: E. c. coarctatus and E. c. lunulatus Fabricius ( van Achterberg et al. 2023). Pending a revision that clarifies the taxonomy of its numerous forms, a broad concept of Eumenes coarctatus is maintained.
