Material examined
IRAQ: Kurdistan, Duhok, 5 km E of Ashewa, Mt . Gara , 1750–1950 m, 37.0158°N 43.3505°E, 30 May-12 June 2024, 1 ♂ ( MSVI, PQ676353 ) GoogleMaps .
Remarks
The only examined specimen is small and shows a rather dark pattern, with reduced paleyellow markings, and lacks the yellow spots on T2 often reported to be a diagnostic character of the species. Comparison with several males from Europe did not, however, show the slightest difference in external morphology and genitalia, and the barcoding of it and two Italian males ( Table 1) did not reveal any genetic difference.
Distribution
France, Portugal, Spain, Italy (including Sardinia and Sicily), Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Albania, Russia, Tunisia, Algeria, Cyprus, Turkey, Jordan, Armenia, Iraq * ( Gusenleitner 2013a; Fateryga 2018).
