Eustenancistrocerus (Parastenancistrocerus) amadanensis amadanensis View in CoL (de
Saussure, 1855)
Literature records
Giordani Soika (1970).
Remarks
Morice (1921) recorded this species from Amarah and Shahroban [Miqdadiyah] under the synonym Odynerus transitorius , but stated that ‘many specimens, apart from their “pictura pallida” [pale pattern], were largely or even entirely red’. Eustenancistrocerus amadanensis is always black and yellow, without any red markings; therefore, Morice’s records likely refer in fact to one of the several red-marked Eustenancistrocerus occurring in the Middle East. The presence of E. amadanensis in Iraq is, however, confirmed by the records published by Giordani Soika (1970).
Distribution
Portugal, Spain, Italy (including Sicily), Hungary, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Russia, Azerbaijan, Syria, Israel and Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, China ( Fateryga and Proshchalykin 2024).
