Literature records
Morice (1921); Derwesh (1965), mentioning ‘Survey of Iraq Fauna, 1915–1919’.
Remarks
We have examined no specimens of Chlorodynerus from Iraq. Morice (1921) recorded this species from Amarah and Basra, close to the Iranian border. Chlorodynerus chloroticus is a mainly North-African species, reaching the Levant and the Arabian Peninsula in the east, without further findings in the areas near the locations cited by Morice (1921). Many species of Chlorodynerus were described after 1921, and several also in Iran, so it is impossible to ascertain the identity of the specimens examined by Morice.
