Lytta velata Gerstäcker, 1854

Distribution. Botswana, Ethiopia, Mozambique, northeastern Namibia (new species for this country), Tanzania, Somalia, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Mukwe : Popa Falls on Kavango , 18.1167°S 21.5833°E (MNB); Okavango River, Popa Falls , Bagani, 18.1167°S 21.6333°E (CB); Mahango Park , 18.1500°S 21.7000°E (MNB). Remarks. Types of this species were not examined but specimens compared with them were studied at HMNH.

This species belongs to the group “II. velata ”, as defined by Kaszab (1953c).
