Phelipanche dalmatica (Beck) Soják View in CoL (≡ Orobanche oxyloba var. dalmatica Beck O. dalmatica (Beck) Tzvelev ). – Fig. 17.

+ Al: Albania: Ostravica, 40.573333°N, 20.478889°E, associated with Euphorbia myrsinites L. (possibly host), 11 Jun 2014, Pils (photos [ Fig. 17A, B], det. Uhlich & Rätzel). – There are no previous records from Albania. Phelipanche dalmatica is an E Mediterranean species (for total range, see Rätzel & al. 2017: 669), differing from the similar P. gussoneana (Lojac.) Domina & al. (Rätzel & al. 2017: 674) in its more compact, usually unbranched habit, the dense inflorescences, which at anthesis are usually rounded at the top, and the usually shorter calyx lobes (occasionally twice as long as the calyx tube). The corolla is narrower, clearly curved and rectangular, protruding from the stem, whitish or pale sky-blue, usually not significantly darker veined. The angle between the inflorescence axis and the longitudinal median of the corolla measures (45–)60–65(–78)° (vs (18–)33–34(–64)° in P. gussoneana ). The lobes of the lower corolla lip are very pointed and often strongly recurved. The anthers are almost glabrous (vs mostly sparsely to richly hairy in P. gussonea ), as is the style (vs densely glandular, sparsely so in the middle part, in P. gussoneana ).

+ Mk: North Macedonia: close to Lake Debar near bor- der with Albania, 41.494890°N, 20.505637°E, steep Sfacing slope with calcareous bedrock, apparently parasitizing Euphorbia rigida M. Bieb. , 17 May 2023, Mátis (photo [ Fig. 17C], det. Mátis). – There are no previous records from North Macedonia. The plant was found growing in thermophilic, dry and rocky grassland of Festuco-Brometea Br.-Bl. & Tx. ex Soó 1947 (for syntaxonomy see Matevski & al. 2015: 1197 ff.), dominated by Centaurea graeca Griseb GoogleMaps .
