TYPE MATERIAL EXAMINED
Congo-Kinshasa: Kivu: T. Kabare. Kahusi, S.-E. Kahuzi, rives Lwiro, 1900 m. 21/XI/1951, N. Leleup, récolté dans l’humus: 1 ♂ holotype ( RBINS) ; Kivu, Terr. Masisi, Lac Ndalaga,
1800 m, N. Leleup, VI/1959, humus en forêt: 1 ♂ paratype ( RMCA). Rwanda: Forêt Nyungwe , 9/IX/1985, R. Jocqué: 1 ♂ paratype (cStr) .
ETYMOLOGY
Dedicated to Narcisse Leleup, specialist of mainly Pselaphinae who collected many Staphylinidae in Congo-Kinshasa. To avoid confusion with Pinoritus leleupi Fagel, 1963 , I’ve chosen his first name.
DESCRIPTION
Aedeagus 2.35 mm. Parameres only near the base near each other, rather tick, tip rather pointed. Dorsal side of the median lobe straight. Tip of the median lobe flat with a sharp incision and two rounded tips. Sides of the median lobe folded upwards, without ventral keels, sides near the middle with a large two lobed enlargement: about three times broader than high and more oriented towards the base instead of the tip.
COMMENTS
Externally not distinguishable from Pinocolis alacus .
Closely related to P. altivagans Bernhauer , see for comments there. The individual from Rwanda has the same collecting data as the paratype of P. rwandensis . If not mislabeled, it seems that both species can live together. Identification is only reliable with aedeagus.
