ETYMOLOGY
Named after L. Levasseur, in whose collection most of the material was found.
DESCRIPTION
12–14 mm, length of forebody 6 mm. Coloration: body black with margin of tergite VIII and posterior halve of tergite IX dark reddish, abdomen slightly iridescent. Legs, palps, antennae and abdominal segment IX orange. Head with dense macropunctation of different size on the posterior part, partly confluent, without clear micropunctation. The smoother V-shaped line on the head large, clearly separated from the posterior part of he head, anterior to this with few big punctures, many intermediate punctures and sparse micropunctures. Head with no microsculpture. Labrum with a small shallow median circular excision. Pronotum with slightly rounded sides, about 1.8 mm wide and 1.8 mm long, macropunctation dense with some scattered micropunctation and without microsculpture, near the posterior part with an longitudinal impunctate line. Elytra about 2 mm wide and 2.3 mm long, punctation dense, without microsculpture. Wings well developed. Abdomen with fine microsculpture. Posterior margin of sternite VIII rounded, also in males.
Aedeagus about 3 mm. Parameres only near the base fused, median lobe in form of a tube reaching just apical the fusion of the parameres with at the side of the parameres two long slender branches almost reaching the tip of the parameres, in the tube a slender T-formed sclerite can be expanded.
