Pinopressus ASSING, 2022 View in CoL syn. nov.

The genus Pinopressus Assing, 2022 View in CoL was created for two species of the Oriental region, with Pinopressus complanatus View in CoL as type species. Volker ASSING (2022) was not aware of the existence of the genus Pinoragus View in CoL , created by Fagel for Pinophilus paolii View in CoL . Based on the description it is clear that both refer to the same genus. In fact, P. paolii View in CoL is very close to P. complanatus View in CoL , externally hardly different (based on individuals from collection Fauvel: RBINS). The best difference is the aedeagus: the tip of the median lobe in P. paoli is more obliquely truncate at the tip, in lateral view making a small hook. For P. complanatus View in CoL the tip is smaller rounded, hook smaller and hardly recognizable. (Fig?)
