(Figure 2B)
Material examined: New record: Montenegro: 1 ex. Njeguši vill. env. (42°25.5015’ N, 18°50.75’ E, 1170 m a.s.l.), 08.05.2014, A. Šíma leg. et coll GoogleMaps .
Notes: H. attenuatus is associated with the stumps of various pine species ( Pinus spp. ) ( Pfeffer 1955). Its occurrence has been recorded in Dalmatia ( Kleine 1913b; Langhoffer 1921; Karaman 1971). Langhoffer (1921) also mentioned the locality of Krapina; however, the exact country is unclear, as villages with this name exist in Montenegro, Croatia, and Slovenia. This species is listed for two countries ( Serbia and Montenegro, abbreviated as ‚YU‘) in a checklist of bark beetles associated with Mediterranean conifers ( Lieutier et al. 2016), although no specific records have been published. Interestingly, despite being a common bark beetle species, H. attenuatus is absent from the collection of Prof. S. Živojinović ( Marković 2013).
