Original rank: species. Current rank and status: synonym of S. subspinipes Leach, 1815 ( Kohlrausch 1878, 1879, 1881; Kraepelin 1903; Brölemann 1909; Attems 1930; Bücherl 1942a); I confirm this synonymy.
Remarks: Scolopendra lutea was omitted by Bücherl (1974).
