pulchra C. L. Koch, 1847:158–159 View in CoL
(31 December ( Jeekel 1971:382, endnote 71; Van den Spiegel et al. 2002:156).
Holotype: not known to exist, not found in BMNH in 2005; type locality: West Indies.
Original rank: species. Current rank and status: synonym of S. cingulata Latreille, 1829 ( Kraepelin 1903, Attems 1930).
Anatomical illustrations: C. L. Koch (1863 a, pl. 10, figs. 21a–d).
Remarks: As S. cingulata occurs in the Mediterranean region of Europe, Egypt, & the Middle East, the purported occurrence of the synonym S. pulchra in the West Indies is puzzling. The name was omitted by Bücherl (1942 a, 1974).
