occidentalis Linnaeus, 1758 View in CoL :?639.
Holotype (LSUK if existent); type locality: America.
Original rank: species. Current rank and status: valid species of the Geophilomorpha.
Anatomical illustrations: no n e.
Distribution: type locality. Maps: none.
Remarks: Attems (1929:348) cited S. occidentalis L. under “Geophilomorpha incertae sedis,” but the name does not appear to have been assigned to a genus in that order or placed in synonymy. Scolopendra occidentalis L., 1758, is a senior primary homonym of S. occidentalis Meinert, 1886 , from the “west coast of Mexico.”
