bahiensis Brandt, 1841:24 View in CoL .
Holotype (ZIN [S. I. Golovatch & A. A. Schileyko, pers. comm.]): type locality: Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.
Original rank: species. Current rank and status: valid species of Scolopendropsis Brandt, 1841 ( Brölemann 1902 b, 1909; Kraepelin 1903; Attems 1930; Bücherl 1939, 1942 a, 1974).
Anatomical illustrations: none.
Distribution: type locality ( Bücherl 1974). Maps: none.
Remarks: In the original description, Brandt (1841) assigned bahiensis to Scolopendra , but he then erected Scolopendropsis solely for bahiensis , which is thus the type species by monotypy and still the only component.
