Holotype: MNHP (J.J. Geoffroy, pers. comm.; examined); type locality: unknown .

Original rank: species. Current rank and status: synonym of S. morsitans L., 1758 ( Kraepelin 1903, Attems 1930, Bücherl 1942 a); I confirm this synonymy.

Remarks: Scolopendra brandtiana was omitted by Bücherl (1974).
