Original rank: species. Current rank and status: synonym of S. viridis Say, 1821 ( Kraepelin 1903, Attems 1930, Bücherl 1942 a, Shelley 2002).
Anatomical illustrations: Pocock (1895, pl. 2, figs. 5, 5a–5d).
Remarks: Scolopendra tenuitarsis was omitted by Bücherl (1974).
