Original rank: species. Current rank and status: valid species ( Attems 1930; Bücherl 1939, 1942 a, 1974); Bücherl (1939) divided S. armata into two subspecies.

Distribution (of nominate subspecies): Venezuela, northeastern Amazonas, Brazil ( Bücherl 1939). Maps: none.
