Original rank: species. Current rank and status: synonym of S. polymorpha Wood, 1861 ( Kraepelin 1903; Attems 1930; Bücherl 1939, 1942 a; Shelley 2002).

Remarks : Kohlrausch’s thesis, in which he gave brief descriptions of all his new taxa, was officially published in 1878 and in my opinion, meets the publication requirements of the Code. He subsequently published two formal journal papers ( Kohlrausch 1879, 1881) in which he redescribed in greater detail these same taxa and identified them again as new. As his thesis constitutes an official publication, the names all date from 1878 rather than from the later works.
