Diagnosis. Males differ from those of P. venusta in the absence of a medial constriction in the scute, no indication of sheen or iridescence on the dorsal scute or carapace and a semicircular subtegular excavation retrolaterally and from those of P. qunats sp. nov. in having the prolateral edge of the distal cymbium tumid ( Fig. 106a, c View FIGURE 106 ) rather than the narrow. Females unknown.
Etymology. A noun in apposition from the type locality.
Description. Holotype Male AM KS43637
Carapace 2.72 long, 1.68 wide. Abdomen 2.92 long, 1.36 wide. Total length 5.8.
Colour: carapace and femora yellowish with narrow dark stripe dorsally on femora; eye region dark brown; patellae I–IV, tibiae I–II, yellow with dark stripes dorsally and laterally; tibiae III, IV brown metatarsi and tarsi yellowish; abdomen dorsally with dark brown scute for 0.8 of length with tuft of white hair distally but no saddle or constriction; ventral scute long, digitiform. Carapace: light cover of fine hairs; feathery hairs not evident; margins very finely serrate; cuticle finely rugose without sheen. Eyes: region dark; all eyes small. Chelicerae: with distinct pair of long strong medially directed bristles in upper half. Legs: only dark feathery hairs evident; femur IV unmodified. Spines: I: fe p1d3; ti v2.2.2; me v2.2. II: fe d3; ti v2.2; me v2.2. III: fe p1d3r1; ti p2r2v2.2.2; me p2r2v2.2.2. IV: fe p1d3r1; ti p2r2v2.2.4; me p2r2v2.2.2. Palp: fe d2; pa d1; ti d1; cymbium p1. Abdomen: ventral and tracheal scutes fused. Palp: tibia with two spines on low diagonal ridge retrodorsally; paracymbial spine short, truncate cone; pre-embolic ridge high, flat; tegulum deeply incised by subtegulum; embolus wide, recurves once to narrow tip; small spine prolaterally on cymbium opposite embolus tip; cymbium tip with long groove, prolateral edge of distal cymbium with tumid fold.
Distribution. Known from Marengo State Forest to northeastern New South Wales.
