Diagnosis. Males differ from those of all other species in the entirely brown carapace and abdomen and embolus with a complex twisted double tip ( Fig. 95a, b View FIGURE 95 ); females differ from those of O. colloffi in the smaller head of the spermathecae ( Fig. 95d View FIGURE 95 ).

Etymology. In honour of Dr Geoff Monteith who has collected many of these new species.

Description holotype male QM S21955 View Materials

Carapace 2.29 long, 1.58 wide. Abdomen 2.26 long, 1.23 wide. Total length 4.8.

Colour: carapace red brown with lighter caput; abdomen light red brown; ventrally, sternum red brown, coxae pallid, abdomen brown; legs I and II pallid, yellowish; femora III and IV brown; patellae–tarsi III yellowish but weak brown bands on basal patellae, subdistal tibiae. Carapace: covered with fine points; fovea at edge of gradual posterior slope. Almost glabrous. Eyes: two rows of similar width; AME slightly bigger than PME = PLE> ALE; f ront row recurved, back row procurved; eyes in tight group. Chelicerae: dentition: 2R, 3P, furrow transverse. Legs: trochanter IV with short deep notch; femora–tibiae with fine dark feathery hairs. Spines: I: fe pv1p1d3; ti v2.2.2; me v2.2. II: fe p2d3, as for I. III: fe p1d3r2, rest missing. IV: fe p3d3r3; ti p2d1r2v2.2.2; me p3r3v2.2.3. Palp: fe p1d2; pa d1 distal ti p2. Tibia III with dorsal spine in paratype. Abdomen: dorsal scute long, narrow, weak, triangular to ca. half length; triangular brown colulus; tracheal scute weak with medial cone; ventral scute absent. Palp: tibia ventrally flattened; cymbium with undulating margin; not apical hirsute cone short, retrobasally with stout paracymbial spine; subtegulum narrowly evident on pro- and retromargins; tegulum constricts to broad pre-embolic ridge of broad flat hook with long acuminate embolus flanked by two lateral spines.

Allotype Female QM S21925 View Materials . Like ♂ except:

Carapace 3.12 long, 2.08 wide; abdomen 4.16 long, 2.16 wide. Total length 7.3. Palp, femora I–IV, patellae and tibiae III and IV, and basal half and distal eighth of tibia III and IV brown; otherwise legs pallid with pallid spot on prodistal tibiae III and IV. Band of white hair medially across dorsal abdomen. Carapace with uniform pile of fine white hair. Chelicerae robust, without thick fang setae. Claw tufts thin; claws with ca. six teeth higher than tufts. Spines as ♂. Palp: fe p1d2, v4 erect; pa d1.1; ti p1d1; ta probasal 2. Palpal claw distinct, dentate, tarsus predistally incrassate. Epigyne: with pair of large diagonal fossae with strong anterior ridge. Tracheal scute a small ridge.

Distribution and Habitat. Known only from rainforest in montane areas west of Mossman, north-eastern Queensland.
