Diagnosis. The male palpal bulb resembles that of O. mcdonaldi sp. nov. in the simpler form but differs in lacking the strong keel at the base of the embolus ( Fig. 96a, b View FIGURE 96 ). Female unknown.
Etymology. In honour of Dr Paul Zborowski, photographer, entomologist and accomplished author.
Description holotype male QM S31510 View Materials
Carapace 3.88 long, 2.92 wide. Abdomen 4.44 long, 2.68 wide. Total length 8.3.
Colour: carapace brown orange with brown strial groove and weak submarginal band, legs orange with brown smudges on dental femora and tibiae; palp brownish yellow; abdomen dark brown with two large white patterns (serially) anteriorly, the second larger and 5–6 fine pallid boomerangs, anterior widest, each one successively smaller; dorsal scute brown orange, lateral fawn with medial brown orange scute to spinnerets; chelicerae dark brown; sternum maxillae and labium brown orange. Carapace: distinct anterior constriction, lateral caput parallel. Glabrous; fovea a long groove, caput well defined and slightly raised. Eyes: AME large; front row slightly recurved; back row strongly procurved. MOQ much longer than wide and wider in front than behind. Chelicerae, robust; margin and fang long, furrow more longitudinal; teeth low on margin; three similar teeth on retromargin; two teeth, basal smaller, on promargin. Maxillae with long serrula. Rounded rectangles basally narrow with distinct crescent groove on inner edge. Labium subquadrate. Sternum flat, cordate with lightly sclerotised triangular precoxal sclerites. Pedicel not fused, steep, wing-like. Legs: I longer than IV; covered sparsely with short fine setae; preening comb and scopula absent; brush of hair (not scopula) on distoventral metatarsi III and IV; claw tufts dense, enclose claws; ca. six long teeth on claws. Spines: I: fe pv1 strong p2d3r1; ti pv4 rv5; me v2.2. II: fe p3d3r1; pa apical hair ti p2 pv4 rv5; me v2.2. III: fe p3d3r3; pa apical bristle d1; ti p2d1r2v2.2.2; me p2r2 (all basal) v2.2.3. IV: fe p2d3r2; pa apical bristle ti p2d1r2v2.2.2; me p3r3v2.2.3. Palp (strong spines): fe p1d2v2; pa p1 (bs) strong); ti p2 (basal) d1. Abdomen: ventral scute covers lungs with separate large ventral rectanglar scute and small area around wide sclerotised ridge of tracheal spiracle. Palp: femur with two erect spines ventrally, tibia longer than wide, cylindrical; cymbium long narrow with convex basal margin; small rounded process retrobasally and ridge to it; apical cone with central glabrous groove; no lateral extensions; bulb pyriform with sinuous spermathecae posteriorly to base, reflexes up and to side; retromarginal invagination; embolus a simple twisted cone with transverse collar.
Distribution and Habitat. Known only from rainforest in north-eastern Queensland.
