Diagnosis. Differs from all other species in having broad golden scales covering carapace lightly and dorsal scute densely. Female unknown.

Etymology. The species epithet refers to the golden scales on the carapace and abdomen.

Carapace 2.28 long, 1.68 wide. Abdomen 2.36 long, 1.52 wide. Total length 4.6.

Colour: carapace black with uniform light cover of large golden scales; femora and patellae dark brown; distal patellae paler, colour fading quickly to yellowish on tarsi I–III, tibiae and metatarsi IV dark brown with ring of white hair distally on tibiae; abdomen with dark red brown dorsal scute with continuous cover of large golden scales; ventrally, sternum, coxae and genital scute red brown, ventral scute dark red brown with broad band of white hair in anterior half and black hair posteriorly. Carapace: finely rugose; fovea long, open, ca. 1.5 lengths from steep posterior slope. Sternum and coxae heavily rugose ( Fig. 42c View FIGURE 42 ). Legs with white feathery hairs on femora-tibiae. Abdomen with short petiolar collar, dorsally almost totally indented. Spines: basal femoral spine on sloping mound (as with many spines). I: fe p1d2; ti v1.2.2; me v2.2. II: fe p1d2; ti v1.2.2; me v2.2. III: fe p2d3r1; ti p2r2v2.2.2; me p2r2v2.2.3. IV: fe p2 (strong) d3r1; ti p2d1r2v2.2.2; me p3r3v2.2.2. Palp: fe p1d2; pa p1w; ti p 1w. Abdomen: dorsal scute for full length, ventral scute converges with convex sides to tracheal mound. Post-epigastric sclerites closed. Palp: subtegular indent small; one folded spermatic duct; paracymbial spine absent; embolus apically narrowly twisted.

Distribution and Habitat. Known only from tall heath verging on open forest at Davies Creek National Park on the Atherton Tableland, northeastern Queensland.
