Diagnosis. Males differ from those of B. wallum sp. nov. in predistal keel on the embolus and short embolic tip ( Fig. 21c View FIGURE 21 ); females differ from those of B. byrneae sp. nov. in the relative sizes of the lobes in the head of the spermathecae ( Fig. 21b View FIGURE 21 ).

Etymology. In honour of Mr Adam Parsons, accomplished photographer and naturalist from Hill Top, New South Wales.

Description Holotype male AM KS40682

Carapace 3.52 long, 2.56 wide. Abdomen 3.28 long, 1.76 wide. Total length 6.80.

Colour: carapace yellow brown with darker brown flecking; legs yellowish with slightly darker patches in no evident pattern; abdomen dorsally for 1/2 length with narrow dark brown scute edged in white, posteriorly brown with 3–4 pallid chevrons; ventrally, coxae, sternum and abdomen pallid. Carapace: with light cover of pointed pustules on interstrial ridges; fovea long, sloping very gently back to margin. Eyes: AME much the largest. Chelicerae: low triangular mound at base of fang; fang long, groove oblique; dentition 2R, 3P. Sternum: a broad shield with intercoxal triangles at I/II; lightly setose. Legs: light coloured feathery hairs on femora; lightly setose. Spines: I: fe pv1p2d3r1; ti p2v2.2.2.2; me p2v2.2. II: fe pv1p2d3r2; ti p2v2.2.2.2; me p2v2.2. III: fe p3d3r3; ti p2d1r2v2.2.2; me p3r3v2.2.3. IV: fe p2d3r1; ti p2d1r2v2.2.2; me p3r3v2.2.3. Palp: fe p1d2. Palp: tibia with proventral hollow; cymbium small, symmetrical, retrobasally with flattened ridge; paracymbial spine short, flat, marginal, triangular; bulb tapers simply and smoothly to narrow sharp pre-embolic keel, embolus short, triangular, rugose. Abdomen: dorsal scute smooth, narrow ovoid for anterior half; ventral scute pallid, begins ca. 1/8 from genital scute, diverging laterally, with diffuse separation from broad ridge of large subquadrate tracheal scute.

Allotype ♀ QM S65927 . As for ♂ but:

Carapace 3.50 long, 2.32 wide. Abdomen 4.01 long, 2.69 wide. Total length 7.4.

Colour: carapace brownish yellow with darker reticulations; eye region darker; chelicerae red brown; legs orange brown with brown smudges on ventral femora and on legs II and IV; abdomen brown with triangular scute on anterior face, with very fine chevrons posteriorly; venter brown, no ventral scute. Carapace glabrous. AME largest. Cheliceral fang mound distinct with staggered row of 8 or 9 thick short, curved serrate spine-like setae. Fangs diagonal but not enlarged. Legs: RCH distinct. Femora III and IV unmodified distally. Coxae I and II smooth. Spines: long, strong on ventral tibiae and metatarsi I and II. I: fe pv1 (long) p2d3r1; pa 0; ti v2.2.2.2, last short; me v2.2. II as I but fe pv1 p2d2r1. III: p3d3r3; pa d1w; ti p2r2v2.2.2; me p2r2v2.2.2.4. IV: as III but, fe p2d3r1; pa 0. Palp: fe p1d2 + 3 strong setae ventrally; pa p1d1.1; ti p2; ta v2 probasal. Tracheal spiracle with semicircular scute and spiracle on apex of curve. Epigyne: an auricular-shaped ridge inner and distal of each copulatory opening separated by 2–3 times their length; internally, head large, folded with distinct thumb-like accessory lobe.

Distribution and habitat. Known from Ferntree Gully, in the Dandenongs, Victoria, Bulga State Forest, New South Wales to coastal south-eastern Queensland. Habitats of these spiders are diverse, ranging from small vine thickets (rarely) to open forest and tall heath.
