Myrmecides C.L. Koch, 1850: 41; Wunderlich, 1986: 28. Pre-occupied in the Insecta by Myrmeciidae Emery, 1877. Platnick (1989: 446) discussed the selection of Corinnidae .

Description. Two claws with distinct claw tufts; legs all prograde and spinose. Maxillae without strong lateral constriction or basal diagonal groove. Eyes in two slightly or strongly curved rows; PME circular. Lateral spinnerets all short truncate cones; three large cylindrical gland spigots on PMS of females; ALS with close bases; apical segment of PLS domed. Male palpal tibia with entirely sclerotised RTA or RTA absent. Tarsal trichobothria short.
