Timochares sanda Evans, 1953 , stat. nov. is a species distinct from Timochares trifasciata (Hewitson, 1868)

Genomic analysis reveals that Timochares trifasciata sanda Evans, 1953 (type locality in Argentina) is genetically differentiated from Timochares trifasciata trifasciata (Hewitson, 1868) (type locality in Bolivia per the label of the lectotype) at the species level ( Fig. 40), e.g., their COI barcodes differ by 2.3% (15 bp). Therefore, we propose that Timochares sanda Evans, 1953 , stat. nov. is a species distinct from Timochares trifasciata (Hewitson, 1868) .
