Type locality. Vietnam (Ba Ria–Vung Tau: Con Dao Archipelago).
Type material. CTU ( EW.020.h01, EW.020.p02).
Remarks. This species was previously found in the Southern region of Vietnam as M. anomala ( T. T. Nguyen 2014; T. T. Nguyen et al. 2017a). However, when comparing with the original description and the samples from Thailand ( Bantaowong et al. 2011), it clearly showed that there were many stable differences in morphologies and molecular data ( COI), thus, T. T. Nguyen et al. (2021a) described it as a new species, M. iranomala .
