Type host. Gymnocharacinus bergii Steindachner (Pisces: Characidae ). Site of infection. Intestine.
Type locality. Argentina, Río Negro Province, Meseta Somuncurá, Arroyo Valcheta (40º50ʹS, 66º40ʹW). Holotype: MLP 4855. Paratypes: MLP 4856 ( 3 specimens).
Remarks. Other paratype in The Natural History Museum, London, UK. Reference. Etchegoin et al. (2002).
