Diagnosis. The genus Giraffaenictus can be separated from allied genera of Aenictoteratini by a combination of the following characters: body myrmecoid; head elongate, 1.6 times as long as wide; eyes prominent, situated around apical 1/6 of head; maxillary palpomere 2 generalized; elytra, together with meso- and metaventrites, globular; abdominal segment III cylindrical; segments V to VIII constitute globular ‘pseudogaster’, not dumbbell-like.
