Type (lectotype, designated here):— INDONESIA. Ambon Island, 10 August 1797, C.Smith s.n. ( BM! [ BM000630901 ]; isolectotype G! [ G00356891 ]).
In the protologue, the specimen C.Smith s.n. is cited as type, without specifying the reference herbarium. Analysing the herbaria where Christopher Smith’s collection is kept, two duplicates of C.Smith s.n. were found in BM and G. For this reason, in accordance with Art. 9.3 of the ICN, is designated here the specimen in BM (BM000630901) as a lectotype of Colona scabra .
