Type:— PAPUA NEW GUINEA. Aroa, Lane-Poole 132 (holotype BRI! [ BRI-AQ0024301 ]; isotype K! [ K000686931 ]).
In the protologue, the specimen Lane-Poole 132 is cited as type of Columbia aequilateralis , without specifying the reference herbarium. Analysing the original collection, were found two duplicates of Lane-Poole 132 in BRI and K. However, on the label of the specimen in K it is written that these are fragments taken from the specimen in BRI. Since White and Francis worked in BRI ( Stafleu & Cowan 1976 –1988: 247, 381), it is considered the specimen BRI-AQ0024301 as the holotype of Colona aequilateralis , in accordance with Arts. 9.1 and 9.2 of the ICN.
