Type (lectotype, designated here):— PHILIPPINES. Luzon Island, Laguna, Los Baños , 1792, Née s.n. (MA! [ MA-01-00475561 ]; isolectotypes MA! [ MA-01-00475560 ], [ MA-01-00475562 ], [ MA-01-00475563 ]; SEV! [ SEV-H775 ]).
Cavanilles (1798) cited the specimen Née s.n. as type, without specifying the reference herbarium. Analysing the herbaria where the original Née’s collection is kept ( Stafleu & Cowan 1976 –1988: 705), were found five duplicates in MA and SEV associated to Colona serratifolia . For these reasons, in accordance with Art. 9.3 of the ICN, is designate here the specimen MA-01-00475561 as a lectotype, by choosing the best-preserved and complete specimen.
