In the protologue, the specimen Teijsmann s.n. is cited as type, without specifying the herbarium.Analysing the herbaria where the original Teijsmann’s collection is kept, six duplicates of Teijsmann s.n. were found in K, L and P. Therefore, following Art. 9.3 of the ICN, is designate here the specimen K000686943 as a lectotype of Columbia subobovata , by choosing the best-preserved and complete specimen.
