Warburg (1904) cited the specimen Warburg 14440 in B as type of Columbia mindanaensis . Unfortunately, this specimen was destroyed in 1943 during World War II (R. Vogt, pers. Comm.), without duplicates in other herbaria. For this reason, in accordance with the Arts. 9.8 and 9.16 of the ICN, is designate here the specimen Piper 435 in US as a neotype of Colona mindanaensis . It was selected based on the geographical origin and morphological features described in the protologue.
