Type (lectotype, designated here):— MALAYSIA. Sabah: Kota Belud, Mount Kinabalu , 28 October 1915, Clemens 9786 (A! [ A00052299 ]).
In the protologue, the specimen Clemens 9786 in the herbarium of the Manila Bureau of Science is cited as type of Columbia borneensis . Unfortunately, this herbarium was destroyed during the Second World War ( Merrill 1945) with also the holotype of C. borneensis (L. Evangelista, pers. comm.). However, one duplicate of Clemens 9786 was found in herbarium A, in accordance with Art. 9.3 of the ICN, is designate here the specimen A00052299 as a lectotype of Colona borneensis .
