Diagnosis
Dionaeadesmus gen. nov. differs from other Tanzanian genera of Chelodesmidae as shown in Table 2, notably by the large spiky postfemoral process (prp, Figs 16E–F View Fig , 17A–D View Fig ).
Etymology
Named after the Venus fly-trap Dionaea muscipula J.Ellis because the pair of heavily spiked gonopod prefemoral processes may remind of the spike-edged leaves of this carnivorous plant.
