Description of Bacillus pumilus View in CoL SBCC-2286
Cells are Gram-staining positive and rods with flagella.
Colonies are circular to irregular, flat cream colored after 3-5 days of incubation at 25℃ on MA. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease activities. Positive for esculin hydrolysis, gelatinase, and β -galactosidase activity. Utilizes D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N- acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, malic acid, and trisodium citrate. Does not utilize capric acid, adipic acid, and phenylacetic acid.
