Description of Paenibacillus piscarius SBCC-1747
Cells are Gram-staining positive and rod-shaped with flagella. Colonies are cream, circle, flat, smooth, and glistening after 5-7 days of incubation on MA at 25℃. Positive for esculin hydrolysis, and β -galactosidase activity. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease and gelatinase activities. Utilizes L-arabinose, D-mannose, N- acetyl-glucosamine, and potassium gluconate. Does not utilize D-glucose, D-mannitol, D-maltose, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain SBCC-1747 (NIBRBAC000510515) was isolated from tidal flat of Seocheon, Chungcheongnam-do, Korea (36°01 ʹ 45 ʺ N 126°39 ʹ 57 ʺ E) GoogleMaps .
