Description of Staphylococcus shinii SBCC-2353
Cells are Gram-staining positive and coccus-shaped without flagella. Colonies are milky white, Circular to slightly irregular, slightly convex, and smooth after 3 days of incubation on MA at 25℃. Positive for nitrate reduction, urease activity, and β -galactosidase activity. Negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, and gelatinase activity. Utilizes D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N- acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, malic acid, and trisodium citrate. Does not utilize capric acid, adipic acid, and phenylacetic acid. Strain SBCC-2353 (NIBRBAC000510524) was isolated from tidal flat of Seocheon, Chungcheongnam-do, Korea (36°01 ʹ 45 ʺ N 126°39 ʹ 57 ʺ E) GoogleMaps .
