Remarks: Described from a single female specimen; material in MZUSP comprised of a female adult specimen missing right arista and left postpedicel of antennae, right foretarsus, left foreleg distal to coxa, and left hindtarsus. Guimarães & Carrera (1941) indicated the following information:“ sob n. o 22.985 nas coleções dêste Departamento… Procedência: Rio Negro, Estado do Amazonas. Cesar Worontzow Daschkow, col. Novembro de 1936,” [Under n. o 22.985 in the collections of this Department… Origin: Rio Negro, State of Amazonas. Cesar Worontzow Daschkow, col. November 1936,”] and placed this species in the subgenus Metacuterebra , raised to generic status by Papavero & Guimarães (2009).

Nomenclatural status: Valid as Cuterebra pessoai Guimarães & Carrera, 1941 .
