Remarks: Described from a type series of one male (holotype) and one female (paratype, as “ alotipo ”); material found in MZUSP comprised of a male adult specimen missing entire right antenna, right legs distal to the coxae, left wing (except lower calypter), and with damaged abdomen. The type series of G. bonaerensis was originally stated to be housed in and belonging to the Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales ( Del Ponte 1939). The label epithet ‘bonaerense’ is an incorrect neuter inflection. Type specimen number ‘520’ as indicated by Del Ponte (1939: 529) used for both holotype and allotype. Guimarães & Papavero (1999: 209) stated to have examined the specimen with the following data: “ Córdoba, no other data, Holotype of Guerinioestrus bonaerensis, Arguello, X.1957 (F.H. Walz), INM;” Synonymized with Rogenhofera grandis (Guérin-Méneville, 1844) by Guimarães (1990).

Nomenclatural status: Valid as Cuterebra grandis Guérin-Méneville, 1844 .
