Remarks: Described from a single female specimen; material in MZUSP comprised of a female adult specimen missing right foreleg, right midleg, left foretarsus and left midtarsus. The holotype was originally stated to be deposited at the Departamento de Zoologia da Secretaria de Agricultura de São Paulo. The collections of this institution were fully transferred to the Universidade de São Paulo in 1969, at which time the institution was renamed the Museu de Zoologia da Universidade de São Paulo ( MZUSP) (Artigas & d’Andretta Jr. 1951: 61, see also Percequillo et al. 2022 for brief collections history).
Nomenclatural status: Junior synonym of Cuterebra funebris (Austen, 1895) .
