Type locality

Forat de l’Or [original citation: “... «Forat del Or», situé dans le «Paso» de Tarradets (termino municipal de Llimiana, partido de Tremp, provincia de Lerida) ...”.

Type material

Syntypes: MZB 78-2558 (2 ♂♂), type loc., 31-VIII-1910, R. Jeannel & E. G. Racovitza leg. (ex coll. R. Zariquiey).

Remarks

Jeannel (1910) does not specify how many specimens there are in the type series (“nombreux exemplaires” [numerous specimens]) originally deposited in the Biospeologica collection. The specimens in the MCNB (mounted on the same pin) have a label with the inscription “ TYPE ” printed in red letters with capture labels hand-written by Jeannel. Of the specimens of the type series deposited in the Biospeologica collection (Jeannel, 1910, 1924a), we have located a number of specimens in box 70 of the MNHNP’s general collection, whose labels have been transcribed by Fresneda & Salgado (2016). In the MNCNM collection (box 20), we have located at least one specimen whose characteristics and collection date suggest that it could correspond to the type series (it has no label identifying it as such, but its determination label classifies it as a new species) .
