Current accepted name

Speonomites tincatincensis ( Escolà, Bellés & Comas, 1985) View in CoL : Fresneda, 1998: 68.

Type locality

Avenc del Tinc-ca-tinc [original citation: “Avenc del Tinc-ca-tinc, Altron (Pallars Sobirà, Lleida)”].

Type material

Holotype ♂ and its genitalia: MZB 78-1039, type loc., 12-X-1978, O. Escolà leg.

Paratypes: MZB 78-1040 (remains of 5 exs. including 1 genitalia ♂), MZB 78-1041 (2 ♀♀), same data as holotype. │ MZB 78-1042 / MZB 78-1053 (8 ♂♂ including 2 genitalia, 12 ♀♀), type loc., 17-XII-1978, X. Bellés, T. Cuñé & O. Escolà leg.

Remarks

Although Escolà et al. (1985) only mentions the deposit of the holotype in the MCNB collection, we can confirm that the whole type series is deposited in the MCNB. These authors do not mention the remains of five specimens dated 12 October 1978 ( MZB 78-1040 ), although probably they must have been examined when describing this new species (aedeagus, including its apex and internal sac are illustrated). These specimens have the same red paratypes labels as the rest of the series and the same collection data hand-written by Escolà. The information on the labels of the male genitalia preparations seems to indicate that they originate from the holotype, from one of the above-mentioned remains, and from two of the paratypes captured on 17 December 1978. The genitalia are mounted separately in microscopic preparations and preserved in Canadian balsam .
