Type locality

Cova de les Feixasses [original citation: “… cova de les Feixases, junto al Santuario de la Salud, sobre San Feliu de Pallarols , en el límite de las provincias de Barcelona y Gerona”].

Type material

Syntypes: MZB 70-0460 (1 ♀), type loc., 17-VI-1934, A. Vilarrubia leg. │ MZB 70-0458, MZB 70-0459, MZB 70-0461 (5 ♂♂, 7 ♀♀), type loc., 10-VIII-1934 (trap), R. Zariquiey leg. (ex coll. R. Zariquiey) .

Remarks

Zariquiey (1940) cites as “Tipos” various specimens (without specifying the number) deposited in the collection of the Barcelona Museum and in his private collection. Subsequently, he states that one was collected by A. Vilarrubia (without indicating the date) and that a number of specimens were also trapped on 10 August 1934. With this date and origin we have found 12 specimens in the MCNB collection, five of which are mounted on the same pin (MZB 70-0461) with their original labels hand-written by Zariquiey (the others have more recent labels with the data copied by hand by O. Escolà). Likewise, we have found a specimen captured by A. Vilarrubia (MZB 70-0460) on 17 June 1934, which must corresponds to the specimen cited by Zariquiey (1940): Escolà & Bellés (1984) refer to it as the first record (capture) from the type locality. None of the specimens have labels that identify them as part of the type series.
