Type locality

Cova de Santa Agnès [original citation: “Cova de Sta. Agnés, Sant Llorenç de Munt, prov. Barcelona”].

Type material

Syntypes: MZB 78-1462 / MZB 78-1466, MZB 78-2247, MZB 78-2248, MZB 78-2696 / MZB 78-2707 (20 ♂♂, 13 ♀♀), type loc., 3-XII-1922, S. Novellas leg. (ex coll. R. Zariquiey).

Remarks

Zariquiey (1924) mentions “numerosos ejemplares” [numerous specimens] but provides no more information and does not indicate where they are deposited. Part of the type series is deposited in the Bioespeologica collection ( Jeannel, 1924a). Most of the 33 specimens located in the MCNB collection have red labels with the inscription “ Typus ”; those that do not, are labelled as cotypes. In box 73 of the MNHNP general collection we have found at least five specimens with the same red label “ Typus ” as most of the specimens in the type series deposited in the MCNB. In the MNCNM collection (box 27) we have found two specimens mounted on the same pin with a red label “ Typus ”, and two others with a red cotype label. All these specimens have identical —or very similar— collection labels to the specimens in the type series deposited in the MCNB. Zariquiey (1924) indicates that material pertaining to this new taxon from caves near the type locality (Faura i Sans leg.) is deposited in the Jeannel and Museo de Madrid collections.
