Typhlochlamys escolai Comas, 1978 View in CoL ( Fig. 79 View FIGURES 74–79 )
Typhlochlamys escolai Comas, 1978b: 161 View in CoL ; figs. 1–3.
Current accepted name
Spelaeochlamys bardisai ( Español, 1975) View in CoL : Salgado & Fresneda, 2004a: 379.
Type locality
Avenc del Caldero [original citation: “Avenc del Caldero, Tibi, Alicante”].
Type material
Holotype ♂: MZB 78-0853, type loc., 30-X-1977, O. Escolà leg.
Paratypes: MZB 78-0854 / MZB 78-0855, MZB 78-1914 / MZB 78-1915 (5 ♂♂, 8 ♀♀), same data as holotype .
Remarks
The type series referred to by Comas (1978b) consists of the ♂ holotype and 13 paratypes (6 ♂♂ and 7 ♀♀), the latter shared between the MCNB and JCC collections. Nevertheless, there are 5 ♂♂ and 8 ♀♀ deposited in the MCNB that are labelled as paratypes. In the JCC collection there is 1 ♂ and 2 ♀♀ (J. Comas, pers. comm.), which means that the total number of female paratypes exceeds the number indicated in the description. Given the type of labels and the information they contain, we believe that the whole series was studied when making the original description of the species and so all should be included in the type series .
