Remarks

The paratypes with register numbers MZB 78-1094 / MZB 78-1103 were included by Escolà (1971) as part of the type series of Speonomus vinyasi , and subsequently designated by Fresneda et al. (2021) as paralectotypes of such taxon (see remarks for Speonomus vinyasi Escolà 1971 ).

Fresneda et al. (2021), designate 42 specimens from “Forat de Casa Nova ”, dated 2 May 1982 (Escolà, Lista & Hernández leg.), all of them deposited in the MCNB collection, according to the authors (without indicating the register numbers). However, only 22 specimens have been located with these data (12 ♂♂ and 10 ♀♀, with register numbers MZB 70-1388 / MZB 70-1393), placed on together in the same entomological box, and originally attributed to Speonomus vinyasi Escolà, 1971 . This discrepancy could be explained taking into account the information we have obtained from the record card of the Escolà’s data file. The entry associated with the above-mentioned date and collectors, indicates 14 specimens and 7 remains (in alcohol) collected by Escolà, as well as 28 more specimens collected by Lista-Hernández (just 42 specimens in all, if we exclude the remains). Sixteen of those specimens were sent two days later for cytological analysis, with negative results. Escolà then refers the preparation during the three days following the collection date of 11 ♂♂ and 13 ♀♀, as well as 2 ♂♂ of those sent to be analyzed, without specifying a date. The whereabouts of the rest of the specimens analyzed are not indicated, but from this circumstance, as well as the documented number of specimens prepared (similar to the specimens we have located), it is deduced that either they were not returned to the MCNB collection or they were lost (destructive analysis?) shortly after their collection.

Type series of T. fadriquei consisting of 227 specimens; paratypes deposited in other collections ( Fresneda et al., 2021): AFC, CBC, DVC, FLC, IBE, JCC, MNHNP and PMGC. The paratypes originally deposited in the XBC ( Fresneda et al., 2021) have been donated to the MCNB collection .
