Remarks
Jeannel (1911a) cites an unspecified number of specimens collected by Hustache in August 1910, from which he selected three type specimens (19 August 1910), which were originally deposited in the MNHNP biospeleological collection. The author does not state the sex of the specimens. In Zariquiey’s collection we have located an incomplete male (MZB 78-1930) with the same collection dates and a white label inscribed with “ TYPE ” in red letters. In the MNHNP general collection (box 74) we have found two specimens, each with labels printed with “ TYPE ”, one in black letters on a red background, the other red letters on a white background, identical to the label of MZB 78- 1930. The information on and format of the two hand-written collection labels of these three specimens are identical and so suggest a common origin. Zariquiey (1917) cites a female captured by Hustache deposited in his collection that, given the information on the capture label, must correspond to the female with accession number MZB 78- 1931 found with MZB 78-1930. This specimen seems to correspond to the series collected by Hustache referred to by Jeannel (1911a). It is possible that the description of this new taxon was based on the study of more specimens and not simply on the examination of the three specimens designated as types, which we believe correspond to the three specimens with the labels inscribed with “ TYPE ” (MZB 78-1930 and the two from the MNHNP). Jeannel (1911a), in fact, uses the expressions “des mâles…” [males] and “Chez les femelles…” [in the females], both in the plural, and so it is possible that specimen MZB 78-1931 was indeed part of the studied material.
