Type locality

Cueva de la Peña [original citation: “Provincia de Oviedo: cueva de la Peña ... en San Román de Candamo, Ayuntamiento de Pravia , valle del río Nalón”].

Type material

Syntypes: MZB 71-8204 (1 ♂), MZB 78-2476 / MZB 78-2480 (2 ♂♂, 5 ♀♀), type loc., 20-VIII-1915, H. Pacheco & J. Cabré leg. (ex coll. R. Zariquiey). │ MZB 71-3756 (1 ♂), type loc., 20-VIII-1915, H. Pacheco & J. Cabré leg. (ex coll. J. Nègre).

Remarks

Bolívar (1915) neither establishes a holotype nor indicates where the studied material is deposited (“numerosos ejemplares” [many specimens]). The specimens MZB 78-2476, MZB 78-2477 and 78-2478 have red printed cotype labels; furthermore, specimen MZB 78-2477 has a determination label hand-written by Bolívar with the inscription “co-TIPOS”. Specimens MZB 71-3756 and MZB 71-8204 are also identified as cotypes (on white labels). Four other specimens, with accession numbers MZB 78-2479 and MZB 78-2480, have labels of origin (H. Pacheco leg.) and, although not labelled as cotypes, they must in fact belong to the type series. In the MNCNM collection (box 12) we have found many specimens that probably represent most of the type series, given the information on the printed collection labels and their characteristics (none of them have labels that state that they are type specimens). In the MNHNP general collection (box 53) we have found at least two specimens with the printed inscription “COTYPE” (material examined by J. M. Salgado) .
